Building a forever home is a very personal endeavor.  My husband and I did not want to work with just any builder.  We had worked with Andy on our first house when he was still with Ole South.  He was the project manager for that house, and we really enjoyed working with him.  So when we found out he had started his own company we called him immediately! 

Andy not only brings a vast knowledge base about constructing a house, he also brings an artistic touch to every aspect of the house making it an unbelievable home.  He was able to listen to every ‘hair-brained’ idea we had and mold it into this amazing house that I get to come home to everyday (I’m still pinching myself). 

In our first meeting we met the team at Holmes by Design.  At first I was not convinced that a team could do what I had in mind.  I thought they would not see the vision.  I was totally wrong!  Johnny is a very hands-on project manager.  He has been with us every step of the way, making sure that we are comfortable and the subs have done what they were tasked to do.  Laura, there are no words to describe how much she means to my husband and I.  She has gone out of her way to keep us up to date on everything and her checklists are awesome!  Doug was on the ball from the start with our budget and keeping us on track.  There is not one person on this team that out shines the others, but this team outshines any other team out there!  There is absolutely no way we would every build or renovate anything without calling Holmes by Design! 

The Holmes team built our new home and it is gorgeous! Andy is very creative and Laura helped us every step of the way. Our dream home turned out even better than we could have imagined!

We just wanted to say thank you to all of you for each of the parts you have played in the build of our dream home. We are so fortunate to have had such a wonderful team helping us through this process. We have heard horror stories of other builders and we are so glad we don't have one to tell! We are still working through the last few things at the house but all in all it has been a great experience! We hope we didn't drive you guys too crazy along the way.

Thanks so much for the gift basket and the Batey's farm frozen food. We love the neighborhood already! God had a plan for us to meet Holmes by Design at the right time and for him to show us this perfect lot in the perfect location and he happened to still be working for the best home builders. Everything came together just as He always promises it will. We will definitely be recommending you guys for remodels and new builds whenever we get the chance (be on the lookout for my Mom - Kathy Stevens - she wants a remodel).

My wife and I had Andy Holmes glass in our screen porch. Andy came and sit down with us and listened to what we wanted , made a few suggestions because of constructional concerns and was back with us in a few days with a drawn plan and an estimated budget. We could not have more pleased; we were so pleased that before Andy had finished the porch we had him redo the garage, put on a new roof, and new gutters all around the house.

All of Andy’s workers were very professional, always came they were suppose to, and always on time. We got to know most of the guys by their first names. Andy checked on out progress almost every day and when he couldn’t he was just a phone call away. We changed our minds a few times throughout the process and Andy was always accommodating.

When the projects were finished, we again sat down with Andy to go over the final figures. He was within a few dollars of the original estimate (not counting the add-ons of course). He told us that he would check back with us in a few months and fix any concerns we had and for us to call if needed before he returned. Andy Holmes is without a doubt the best person you could get to do your construction work.

My wife and I are thoroughly enjoying the screened-in back porch that Holmes by Design built for us almost two years ago. We have been able to spend time on the porch for about ten months out of the year. We particularly enjoy some of the features that they suggested that we incorporatedinto the design of the porch. For instance, the vaulted ceiling that gives us more light and airflow than what we were originally envisioning, as well as the screen system they suggested - that has worked out extremely well. Also, we enjoy the gas fireplace because it extends the time that we can spend on the porch during some of the colder months of the year. And best of all, your estimate for the project was something we thought we could afford - and the total project actually came in below budget, so that was an additional thing to celebrate. We are thankful for your great ideas, your professionalism, and the care and skill that you put into our porch - it has enhanced our outdoor living experience.

Let me first start by saying that I don't usually do reviews on my business transactions, but my family and I had such an amazing experience with the Holmes by Design team and Andy Holmes, I feel compelled to give my review.
I will first start by saying that the most important thing Andy and his team did was completely follow thru with all the promises made while building our home. Andy followed up with me weekly on expectations for the upcoming week to keep us completely informed during the building process. This follow-up and attention to detail helped me build a trust with Andy and his team. Andy never disappointed us and he went above and beyond the normal builder expectation throughout the process.
Andy has a vision to build houses that I truly feel is unmatched in home builders in the market today. Andy took so much pride in his work and that pride resonated down to the contractors that worked on our house. For example, Tim and Greg, who did the trim work on our house, were two of the most detailed, skilled and professional people whom I have ever come in contact with. I can still remember Tim walking my wife and I around to show us their work and the pride they had in their craftsmanship showed in every beautiful detail.
I had never met Andy or any member of his team previous to March 2016. With that being said, my wife and I had the privilege to work with Laura as we set out on the long journey of doing selections on paint, door knobs, cabinets, carpet, brick, hardwood, tile, lights, faucets, and many more things during the building process. Laura was a true blessing as she helped us navigate step by step through every detail. I can honestly say that after working with her, I feel that my family and I have a friend in Laura and her husband, Brian.
When our house was finished and we closed on the property, the Holmes by Design team separated themselves from all other builders. Johnny and Mark both made sure that every aspect of my home was above and beyond our expectations.
I can't truly express in words the gratitude I have for Andy and the Holmes by Design team. Not only do my wife and I have our dream home, but we made a lot of new friends along the way.
I would and have recommended Andy Holmes and the Holmes by Design team to anyone looking to build a custom home.
